Alexandre Jousset's indexed work centers on how microbial community diversity and interaction structure govern plant health. His most-cited first-author synthesis argues that the rare biosphere disproportionately shapes ecosystem function, while senior-author studies show that initial soil microbiome composition predetermines future plant health and that trophic network architecture among root-associated bacteria controls pathogen invasion. Related work on competition for iron as a driver of phytopathogen control extends this ecological framing of disease suppression. Beyond these, Jousset contributed to broader syntheses, including soil protists as an understudied frontier in soil biology and rhizosphere protists as determinants of plant health, alongside work linking soil fungal and bacterial communities to vanilla Fusarium wilt suppression. Collaborations with Cameron Wagg and Corné M. J. Pieterse connect this line of inquiry to plant–microbiome research more widely. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond these publications. Taken together, the works trace a consistent arc: from predator–prey and competition dynamics within microbial communities toward predicting and managing plant disease through microbiome ecology.
