Bernhard Y. Misof's indexed work centers on resolving the timing and pattern of insect evolution through phylogenomics, the first-author study that anchors much of his later research program. His methodological contributions include Monte Carlo approaches for identifying randomness in multiple sequence alignments, work aimed at making data exclusion more objective, and, as senior author, phylogenomic reconstructions of the arthropod tree of life and of pancrustacean relationships supporting Remipedia as a possible sister group to Hexapoda. These alignment- and tree-building themes recur across his most-cited senior-author outputs. Beyond those focus papers, Misof contributed as a middle author to large insect-ordinal phylogenomic efforts, including the evolutionary history of Hymenoptera and the genomic basis of beetle diversity, both of which extend the same comparative framework to major clades. Earlier work on PCR selection and drift in gene-family surveys reflects a longer-standing interest in how molecular data are generated and interpreted. No software tools, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond these publications. Across the listed works, the through-line is a sustained effort to sharpen phylogenetic inference methods and apply them to resolving insect and arthropod relationships.
