Biykem Bozkurt's indexed work centers on the universal definition and classification of heart failure, a framework she led as first author in 2021 and which anchors much of her subsequent output, including heart failure epidemiology and outcomes statistics reports issued for the Heart Failure Society of America in 2023 and 2024. Earlier first-author work addressed tumor necrosis factor-α as a driver of progressive left ventricular dysfunction and remodeling, complemented by a clinical trial of targeted anti-TNF therapy with etanercept in advanced heart failure. Her portfolio also includes scientific statements on dilated cardiomyopathy diagnosis and treatment and on managing comorbidities such as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes in chronic heart failure. Beyond these lead-author contributions, Bozkurt contributed to major multicenter efforts, including the PARADIGM-HF trial of angiotensin-neprilysin inhibition versus enalapril and the 2022 AHA/ACC/HFSA heart failure management guideline, where she helped shape consensus recommendations. Her work with collaborators such as Gregg Fonarow reflects sustained engagement in guideline development and outcomes research. No software, datasets, patents, or funded grants appear in the indexed record beyond these publications. Taken together, the arc runs from mechanistic and early-phase therapeutic studies toward the definitional, epidemiological, and guideline infrastructure that now frames how heart failure is classified and managed.
