Cesare Hassan's indexed work centers on endoscopic diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal disease, with a particular emphasis on colonoscopy quality and colorectal neoplasia detection. His most-cited lead-author contributions include ESGE guidelines on bowel preparation for colonoscopy and post-polypectomy surveillance, both updated across multiple editions, alongside endoscopic resection of large colorectal polyps. A parallel thread concerns artificial intelligence for real-time adenoma and polyp detection, addressed in a randomized trial and a systematic review and meta-analysis, suggesting a sustained effort to translate computational tools into endoscopic practice. Beyond these, Hassan contributed to widely cited ESGE guidance on endoscopic submucosal dissection and colorectal polypectomy and endoscopic mucosal resection, reflecting a broader role in shaping European endoscopic standards. His portfolio otherwise rests on guideline and meta-analytic synthesis rather than indexed software, datasets, or patents. Taken together, the named works trace a consistent line of inquiry: defining evidence-based standards for endoscopic practice while evaluating emerging detection technologies.
