Changyun Wen's research centers on adaptive and robust control for uncertain nonlinear systems, particularly where physical constraints complicate standard designs. His most-cited first-author work develops robust adaptive control under input saturation and external disturbance, a problem that recurs across his portfolio, while his senior-authored study on adaptive actuator failure compensation with guaranteed transient performance established a framework for maintaining stability when actuators degrade. Related senior-author contributions extend this fault-tolerant thread to resilient observer-based control of heterogeneous multiagent systems under actuator faults and denial-of-service attacks, and to adaptive consensus with unknown control directions via a Nussbaum-type function, addressing coordination when agents lack consistent actuation knowledge. Earlier and middle-author work broadens the methodological range: event-triggered adaptive control for uncertain nonlinear systems and distributed secondary voltage and frequency restoration in droop-controlled microgrids, the latter reflecting an applied power-systems dimension. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond these publications. Across the listed works, the through-line is a sustained effort to make adaptive and fault-tolerant control rigorous under saturation, backlash, dead zones, quantized inputs, and communication constraints, with Bin Jiang among the collaborators on this fault-diagnosis-adjacent agenda.
