Cheng‐Wei Qiu's indexed work centers on thermal metamaterials and devices for controlling heat signatures and cloaking, alongside metasurface optics spanning the visible to terahertz. His most-cited lead-author contributions include a widely cited review of transforming heat transfer with thermal metamaterials and devices (684 citations) and an experimental bilayer thermal cloak (574 citations), which together anchor a sustained line of inquiry into redirecting heat flow. A parallel thread concerns reconfigurable active Huygens' metalenses (661 citations) and intrinsic chiral bound states in the continuum (651 citations), suggesting an ongoing interest in wavefront and polarization control at the nanoscale. Beyond these, Qiu contributed as a middle author to three-dimensional optical holography using a plasmonic metasurface and to dual-polarity plasmonic metalens for visible light, both early demonstrations that helped establish metasurface-based wavefront shaping. His later work extends toward calibration-free terahertz metasurfaces for monitoring gastric cancers, connecting metamaterial design to biomedical sensing. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond publications, so the visible arc runs from thermal cloaking and metasurface holography through to chiral and biomedical photonics, with collaborators such as Baile Zhang appearing in this space.
