Chong Yan's indexed work centers on the electrode/electrolyte interfaces that govern lithium metal anode stability. His most-cited first-author studies examine regulating the inner Helmholtz plane to build a stable solid electrolyte interphase and lithium nitrate solvation chemistry for high-voltage lithium metal batteries, together pointing to electrolyte formulation as the lever for interfacial control. Related work on dual-layered films and armored mixed-conductor interphases for dendrite-free lithium deposition extends this theme toward mechanically robust anode protection. Beyond these, Yan contributed as a middle author to highly cited studies on fluoroethylene carbonate additives for uniform lithium deposition and lithiophilic sites in doped graphene guiding lithium nucleation, both of which informed the nucleation-and-growth picture he later developed in his own anion-derived solid electrolyte interphase work. No software, datasets, or patents are indexed for him. Across these outputs, the through-line is a sustained focus on interfacial chemistry—from solvation structure to interphase formation—as the decisive factor in rechargeable lithium battery performance.
