Chunwei Zhang's indexed work centers on structural response to blast and impact loading, spanning state-of-the-art reviews of RC members under combined impact-blast and lateral impact, alongside numerical studies of simply-supported RC beams. A parallel thread addresses vibration feature extraction via signal processing for structural health monitoring, while his senior-author reviews on electrochemical hydrogen storage materials and microgrid decentralized energy/voltage control extend his portfolio into energy systems, the former ranking among his most-cited outputs. Beyond these, middle-author contributions include alkali-activated composites incorporating nanomaterials and sea sand coral concrete with FRP bar reinforcement for marine environments, reflecting engagement with sustainable and marine construction materials. His friction-based seismic isolation and energy dissipation work and studies using viscoelastic materials to mitigate earthquake-induced pounding connect the dynamic-loading and vibration-control themes. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond publications. Across these outputs, the throughline is a review-driven, simulation-supported investigation of how structures and materials respond to extreme dynamic and environmental demands.
