Cornelius Joseph Clancy's indexed work centers on diagnosing invasive candidiasis, particularly the gap left by blood cultures and the role of nonculture diagnostics such as β-D-glucan assays and Candida real-time PCR in improving disease detection. His most-cited first-author paper on finding the "missing 50%" of invasive candidiasis (690 citations) frames this diagnostic problem directly, while a later first-author review on diagnosing invasive candidiasis extends that line of inquiry. As senior author, he has also shaped IDSA guidance on treating antimicrobial-resistant gram-negative infections, including the 2023 guidance (731 citations) and successive 2020–2022 documents on ESBL-producing Enterobacterales, carbapenem-resistant organisms, and difficult-to-treat *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*. Beyond these, Clancy contributed as a middle author to the 2016 IDSA clinical practice guideline for managing candidiasis (4,195 citations) and to the revised consensus definitions of invasive fungal disease from EORTC/MSGERC (2,948 citations), both foundational reference works in medical mycology. His senior-author studies on **ceftazidime-avibactam efficacy against carbapenem-resistant *Klebsiella pneumoniae* bacteremia and on plasmid-borne *bla*KPC-3 mutations driving ceftazidime-avibactam resistance** trace a complementary arc from antifungal diagnostics to antibacterial resistance. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond these publications. Collaborations with Barry N. Kreiswirth and Amy J. Mathers appear within this resistance-focused work.
