Daniel G. Anderson's indexed work centers on non-viral vectors for gene-based therapy, a theme his most-cited reviews frame as a delivery problem rather than a molecular one. His senior-author analyses of siRNA delivery barriers and delivery materials for siRNA therapeutics (over 3,000 and 1,800 citations respectively) trace how lipid and polymer carriers are designed, while his combinatorial library of lipid-like materials for RNAi established the screening approach behind much of this chemistry. Related work on molecularly self-assembled nucleic acid nanoparticles for targeted in vivo siRNA delivery and on endocytic recycling as a limit on lipid-nanoparticle siRNA delivery suggests a sustained interest in why carriers succeed or fail inside cells. Beyond these, he contributed to CRISPR-Cas9 knockin mice for genome editing and cancer modeling and to a widely cited review of PLA's physical and mechanical properties and applications, both as a collaborating author. His senior-author study on Cas9 genome editing in adult mice correcting a disease mutation connects the delivery chemistry to therapeutic editing, and his review of technologies for therapeutic mRNA delivery extends the same carrier logic to messenger RNA. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed alongside these publications. Across the listed works, the through-line is carrier design and its mechanistic evaluation, moving from siRNA silencing toward mRNA and gene-editing applications.
