Daniel S. Sanchez's indexed work centers on topological chiral crystals and their helicoid-arc quantum states, the subject of his most-cited first-author paper, which remains a reference point for the field. Related first-author studies extend this line to tunable topologically driven Fermi arc van Hove singularities and to Weyl fermions in a magnetic non-centrosymmetric crystal, while an earlier, distinct thread addresses the temperature-dependent elastic energy of sharply bent 10-nanometer DNA. The chiral-crystal work appears to have been developed in close dialogue with Claudia Felser, whose name recurs across the broader topological-materials literature. Beyond his lead-author contributions, Sanchez appears as a contributing author on several widely cited consortium studies, including the discovery of a Weyl fermion state with Fermi arcs in niobium arsenide and the experimental discovery of a topological Weyl semimetal state in TaP. No software tools, datasets, patents, or funded grants are indexed for him beyond these publications. Taken together, the record suggests a trajectory from soft-matter biophysics into the experimental identification and characterization of topological fermion states in crystalline materials, with a sustained emphasis on Fermi-arc and van Hove physics.
