Chao-Yang Lu's indexed work centers on photonic quantum information science, spanning entangled graph states built from six photons and compiled photonic demonstrations of Shor's factoring algorithm, both published in 2007 and among his most-cited first-author contributions. His research has since extended to space-based quantum experiments, most prominently the Micius program, whose 2022 review he led. Earlier work on spin dynamics and relaxation in semiconductor quantum dots reflects a parallel thread in condensed-matter physics. Beyond these, Lu contributed as a middle author to photonic quantum computational advantage and to satellite-to-ground quantum key distribution and entanglement distribution, both of which involve collaborators such as Jian-Wei Pan. These contributions sit alongside his foundational multiparticle entanglement swapping for quantum networking. No software, datasets, patents, or grants were indexed beyond his publication record, so his documented output remains exclusively scholarly. Taken together, the works trace a trajectory from tabletop photonic entanglement and quantum-dot spectroscopy toward large-scale, space-based quantum communication and computing demonstrations.
