Anthony John Iafrate's indexed work centers on molecularly defined subsets of lung cancer and their targeted treatment, anchored by senior-author studies linking ALK and ROS1 rearrangements to clinical outcomes. His most-cited paper, on anaplastic lymphoma kinase inhibition in non–small-cell lung cancer, helped establish a genotype-directed therapeutic strategy, while later work on crizotinib in ROS1-rearranged lung cancers extended this paradigm to a second fusion-defined class. Earlier first-author research on large-scale structural variation in the human genome reflects a parallel interest in the genomic methods underpinning such discoveries. Beyond these, Iafrate contributed as a middle author to studies on acquired resistance to EGFR inhibitors and on CRISPR-Cas off-target profiling via GUIDE-seq, the latter reflecting broader genomics collaborations. His senior-author work on rapid targeted mutational analysis of human tumours describes a clinical genotyping platform for guiding personalized cancer medicine, and related studies characterize MET amplification as an aggressive, crizotinib-responsive subgroup. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond these publications. Across the listed works, the through-line is translating genomic alterations into actionable diagnostic and therapeutic categories, often alongside collaborators such as Alice Tsang Shaw and Matthew M. Meyerson.
