Lu-Jun Li's indexed work centers on soil carbon and nitrogen cycling in Mollisols and semi-arid grasslands of Northeast China. His most-cited first-author study examines how soil microbial biomass and nitrogen availability govern the priming effect from carbon inputs, a paper now cited nearly 200 times. Related first-author work traces carbon and nitrogen mineralization from contrasting crop residues under different placement regimes, while later senior-author research follows fifteen years of straw return and its effects on soil organic carbon dynamics. Across these studies, a consistent concern with fertilization, residue management, and aggregate-level carbon structure is apparent. Beyond lead-author papers, Li contributed as a middle author to a highly conserved, nitrogen-fixing core bacterial microbiota in maize xylem sap, and to earlier work on soil organic carbon pools after a decade of manuring combined with chemical fertilizer. Both reflect the collaborative, consortium-scale side of his record. No software, datasets, patents, or funded grants appear in the indexed data, so his publicly visible output remains publication-based. Taken together, the named works trace a coherent line of inquiry: how organic inputs, tillage, and nutrient availability shape carbon storage and microbial function in agricultural soils.
