Susumu Kitagawa’s indexed work centers on the design and chemistry of porous coordination polymers (PCPs) and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). His foundational 2004 review, "Functional Porous Coordination Polymers," with over 11,000 citations, established the concept of designing dynamic, functional pore spaces within crystalline coordination networks.
