Álvaro Goyanes's indexed work centers on 3D printing of oral dosage forms, with early first-author studies establishing how tablet geometry governs drug release and how fused-filament printing can fabricate tablets from pharmaceutical filaments. These foundational papers, among his most cited, were extended into modified-release aminosalicylate printlets and orally disintegrating or uniquely designed oral devices, while later work with Christine M. Madla and others turned to semi-solid extrusion for personalised medicines and to translating printed pharmaceuticals toward real-world clinical use. Beyond those lead-author lines, he contributed to stereolithographic and selective laser sintering of oral dosage forms, helping broaden the range of printing technologies applied to medicines, and to digital health approaches for connected patient care. His most clinically explicit contribution remains an automated 3D-printed isoleucine formulation for MSUD, tested in a first single-centre patient crossover study. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond these publications, so the arc reads as a sustained movement from proof-of-concept printing toward patient-facing personalised therapy.
