Alexis Berg's indexed work centers on how land–atmosphere feedbacks amplify aridity under global warming, the theme of their most-cited first-author paper (489 citations). Related first-author studies examine the soil moisture perspective on climate change and drought and show divergent surface versus total soil moisture projections, while later work argues against projected global drylands expansion under greenhouse warming. A parallel thread traces soil moisture–atmosphere interactions in surface temperature distributions and in interannual coupling between summertime temperature and precipitation. Beyond these, Berg contributed to high-resolution Köppen-Geiger climate classification maps, including constrained CMIP6 projections, and to consortium work on soil moisture's influence on long-term terrestrial carbon uptake, alongside David M. Lawrence and Benjamin I. Cook. Other co-authored studies address land–atmosphere feedbacks exacerbating concurrent soil drought and atmospheric aridity and the LoCo perspective on land–atmosphere interactions. No software, datasets, patents, or grants are indexed beyond publications. Taken together, the works trace a consistent line: quantifying how soil moisture coupling shapes aridity, temperature, and carbon uptake under warming.
