Aiping Yu's indexed work centers on carbon nanomaterials for energy storage and conversion, with early first-author studies on graphite nanoplatelet–epoxy thermal interface materials and hybrid graphite nanoplatelet–carbon nanotube fillers establishing routes to thermally conductive composites (1,040 and 974 citations respectively). This line extends into ultrathin, transparent graphene films for supercapacitors and layer-by-layer graphene–MnO2 hybrid anodes for lithium-ion batteries, alongside a senior-author study of graphene-based flexible supercapacitors via pulse-electropolymerized polypyrrole, suggesting a sustained focus on translating carbon nanostructures into functional devices. Beyond these lead contributions, Yu appears as a co-author on widely cited reviews, including one on non-precious metal electrocatalysts for PEM fuel cells and one on electrically rechargeable zinc–air batteries, reflecting engagement with broader energy-conversion consortia. Her senior-author work also spans urchin-like NiCo2S4 microspheres synergized with sulfur-doped graphene as bifunctional Zn–air catalysts and graphene-wrapped TiO2 nanoflower composites for photocatalysis. No software, datasets, or patents are indexed beyond publications, though collaborators such as Zhongwei Chen connect several of these themes. Across the portfolio, the arc runs from composite thermal management toward electrocatalysis and rechargeable battery systems.
